lasts and firsts

Last moments of California... rays of sunset driving down the coast, compass stuck on south, orchid in bloom... perfect lasts and hello firsts...

lessons learned so far:
1) just say no to pot cookies on procrastinated packing days
2) more water, less wine 24-48 hours before scheduled departure
3) have faith in the unknown
4) relish even the sad moments

i sit in the Cameron Cafe after a tasty Sayulita shrimp burger made with nothing but the best ingredients, love... pondering my first days alone... sipping on my Pacifico... Yola paitently observing the street activities on the restaurant balcony (got to love the pet friendly-ness of this country... perros bienvenidos!).. . I dont know how i got here, but i know stubbornness does apply. I knew that I wanted to do this, and despite many efforts of loved ones to convince me of better, more socially acceptable life options, vagrant-ness through the southern waters won. I embark this phase of my life with an open heart, giving and receiving love from the universe. So far, so excellent. Potential work lies ahead, because a little food money always helps, and the most stellar of accommodations to rest in.... I am blessed...

as i said goodbye to the lasts of california life, i welcome the newness of la vida latina. the goodness of california remains in my heart always and i am thankful for the many blessings i received. but as i drove past the mango and banana orchards, and as i lay underneath the coconut trees on the beach, i knew i was home. ...

p.s. baby swims in mexcio! woo hoo!!!!!!!!!!!
